Our team understand the devastating impact rape and sexual assault can have on your life. You may be experiencing feelings that you have never felt before and the assault may leave you feeling vulnerable, frightened and alone. These are completely normal feelings but you may want to share these feelings with someone who understands.
You may be feeling scared, confused and isolated. We can help you. We have a team of specially trained and dedicated staff who understand what impact rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse can have on people’s lives. Our team will aim to help you recover both physically and emotionally from your experience. You have the choice to report to the police immediately, or you can attend Willow House and decide at a later date.
You can take these steps now:
Contact us on our 24 hour helpline. We will talk you through your options and provide the support you require.
You may decide to report the crime to the police straight away. If you do, their trained officers will contact us to support you.
It is never too late to seek the support you need following a rape or sexual assault. Depending on what happened and how long ago, it is possible you may still be offered a Forensic Medical examination. If your assault did not take place recently then we may not be able to find forensic evidence.
No matter how long ago it happened, we can still provide advice and information on medical, emotional and practical support. This support may be through our Crisis Workers or Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA).
